About The Position

The Land Development Intern provides comprehensive administrative and front desk support to ensure efficient daily operations within the department. This role assists the Director and Director’s Assistant with calendar management, meeting preparation, documentation, and the drafting of correspondence, reports, and standard operating procedures. The intern also supports scheduling, meeting coordination, and administrative functions for Business License, Fire Prevention, Building Safety and Code Enforcement. Employees hired into this position are expected to work in any division within the Land Development department. Division assignments are based on operational needs and may change over time. Candidates must possess the skills, flexibility, and willingness to perform the duties required in any Land Development division. Serving as the first point of contact at the Information Desk, the intern greets visitors, verifies appointments, provides accurate information, and directs individuals to the appropriate department. Additionally, the role supports mailroom operations by sorting and logging incoming mail and packages, ensuring proper delivery, adhering to security protocols, escorting delivery personnel, and maintaining an organized mailroom environment.

Requirements

  • Current enrollment in any of the following degree programs: HR Management, Business, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Education, or a related field from a regionally accredited post-secondary institution
  • Current enrollment with a minimum of 6 credit hours per semester (undergraduate level) or 3 credit hours per semester (graduate level)
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher
  • A valid Nevada driver’s license

Nice To Haves

  • Fluency in Spanish or another language is desired.
