About The Position
This internship offers a hands-on experience in land development engineering, allowing interns to work alongside experienced professionals to learn the process of planning and designing sites from conception to completion. Interns will gain exposure to various aspects of site development, including grading, drainage, roads, utilities, and overall site layout. The program emphasizes learning by doing, integrating interns into real projects and team activities.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled at an accredited college or university pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Available to work full time during Summer 2027, typically from mid May or early June through early August
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, surveying, site design, grading, drainage, stormwater, or other civil engineering tools
- Previous Land Development or engineering internship experience is not required
Responsibilities
- Support site design for residential, commercial, institutional, or industrial development projects
- Assist with site layouts, grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design
- Help prepare engineering calculations, drawings, plans, and project documentation
- Gain exposure to Civil 3D and other engineering and design tools
- Support materials prepared for municipalities and other review agencies
- Participate in field visits and project discussions to see how designs connect to real site conditions
- Work alongside engineers and designers while learning how the different pieces of a development come together
