About The Position

NV5 is seeking a motivated Land Development Engineer to join its growing team and contribute to commercial, residential, and institutional site development projects. The role supports the planning, design, and delivery of projects across all phases, in collaboration with professionals from multiple disciplines. The engineer will prepare plans and designs, perform site analyses and engineering calculations, support permitting, conduct field assessments, and help ensure project deliverables meet applicable standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years of land development experience.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification.
• Strong understanding of site civil engineering principles and land development practices.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Experience with Bentley StormCAD or similar stormwater modeling software.
• Familiarity with GIS applications.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience with permitting processes and regulatory agency coordination.

Responsibilities

• Prepare engineering plans, designs, and drawings for land development projects.
• Perform site feasibility analyses, conceptual planning, and site layout design.
• Develop grading, drainage, stormwater management, utility, and erosion and sediment control plans.
• Support project permitting activities and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
• Conduct field investigations and site assessments as needed.
• Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations and modeling.
• Use Civil 3D, stormwater management software, and other engineering applications to produce project deliverables.
• Participate in project quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and compliance with company and industry standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams, clients, consultants, and public agencies.
