About The Position

The Land Development Engineer will support the design and coordination of commercial, residential, and mixed-use development projects. This position involves design of grading, utilities, drainage, and site layout, with an emphasis on quality, construct-ability and internal collaboration with the design team. The ideal candidate is an engineer-in-training eager to learn all aspects of land development, contribute to active projects, and take on increasing responsibility as their career progresses.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • EIT certification required; or ability to obtain within 1 year.
  • 1–5 years of experience in land development design.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related design tools.
  • Strong understanding of grading, drainage, and utility design principles.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple project deliverables and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the design and production of civil site development plans including grading, utilities, and storm water systems.
  • Support coordination of multidisciplinary design teams, including survey, CAD, and construction personnel.
  • Assist in preparation of feasibility studies, land plans, engineering cost estimates, preliminary and final construction drawings, bid forms, technical specifications and related documentation.
  • Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders, both internal and external.
  • Collaborate with CAD staff on plan production, providing direction and reviewing work for accuracy.
  • Conduct plan reviews to ensure quality control and compliance with jurisdictional standards.
  • Assist in permitting efforts with local and state agencies.
  • Support project budgeting, scheduling, and resource planning activities.
  • Schedule and participate in project meetings, maintaining consistent communication with project managers and team members.
