Civil Engineer, EIT – Residential Land Development
About The Position
As a Civil Engineer, EIT at Atwell, your role will be dynamic and multifaceted, including the opportunity to become a subject matter expert in residential, commercial, and/or industrial land development! You will be responsible for drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, ensuring precision and adherence to industry standards. You will dive into project survey data to assess existing site conditions, considering various factors, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents. You will also prepare a variety of reports, opinions, and recommendations crucial for project direction, and offer valuable construction-related services. You will utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments efficiently, ensuring they align with established standards. You will demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills when collaborating with current staff members, ensuring seamless project coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
- 2+ years of experience
- EIT certification
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
Nice To Haves
- Experience with WaterCAD, StormCAD, and SewerCAD
Responsibilities
- Drafting preliminary and final site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Assessing existing site conditions by analyzing project survey data, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and condo documents.
- Preparing hydrology/hydraulic studies, due diligence/site analysis reports, engineer's opinion of probable costs, project schedules, utility computations, detention/retention computations, storm sewer reports, local and state permit applications, stormwater reports, soils reports, earthwork volume calculations, StormCAD reports, WaterCAD reports, and preliminary grading.
- Providing construction-related services such as permit applications, cut sheets, quantity estimates, and transmittals.
- Organizing site plans, construction plans, and construction documents under the guidance of Senior staff.
- Utilizing AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software packages to complete assignments.
- Collaborating with current staff members to ensure seamless project coordination.
