About The Position

Timmons Group is seeking an experienced Land Development Project Manager to join their team in Newport News, VA. This role involves taking ownership of land development projects from concept through construction, assisting clients with zoning entitlements, civil site plan approvals, and construction administration support. The position offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for teamwork, diverse training, and a sense of ownership in project outcomes. Project engineers typically work in a team of 2-3 design engineers and a project manager.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering (or related field).
• Active P.E. license in Virginia, and/or one or more states in which Timmons Group conducts business (or ability to obtain).
• 6–10 years of civil engineering experience, with a focus on land development.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects, budgets, and schedules simultaneously.
• Strong client relationship and business development skills.
• Proficiency in Civil 3D and other relevant design software.

Responsibilities

• Designing project components using Civil 3D and other industry-standard tools.
• Performing engineering calculations and solving real-world challenges.
• Preparing technical specifications and construction documents.
• Developing cost estimates and managing project budgets.
• Collaborating with clients, internal teams, and stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff.
