Land Development Civil Designer
About The Position
VHB is seeking a Land Development Civil Designer to join their growing Land Development team in Tampa, FL. This role is crucial in shaping the future of cities and neighborhoods. Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of engineering experience (may include extensive co-op/internship experience).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant design software.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Eagerness to learn and grow in the field of land development.
- Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations.
- Knowledge of construction materials and detailing.
- Detail drawings, sections, and material specifications.
Nice To Haves
- EIT Certification preferred.
- Experience with green initiative programs and low-impact design (LEED, Envision).
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of site development plans, including grading, drainage, and utility layouts.
- Conduct field investigations and gather data to support project designs.
- Collaborate with project managers, planners, and other engineers to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Participate in project meetings and contribute to design discussions.
- Prepare reports, calculations, and technical documentation.
