Requirements

BS in Civil Engineering or a related degree.
1–3+ years of civil engineering experience (internship, co-op, or full-time) in land development, site design, or related areas.
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Experience with any of the following is a plus: HydroCAD, WaterCAD, WaterGEMS
Experience with Microsoft Project
Experience with BIM 360 or similar cloud collaboration platforms
Experience in developing site plans, construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports is highly valued.

Responsibilities

Work within a collaborative team to develop site civil engineering plans and specifications for a wide range of land development projects.
Prepare site layouts, grading, drainage, utilities, erosion and sediment control, and related design elements using AutoCAD Civil 3D and other tools.
Contribute to construction documents, technical specifications, and engineering reports, with a focus on accuracy and high-quality work.
Support stormwater management, utility design, and sustainable site design solutions that improve community resilience.
Collaborate closely with colleagues in other VHB offices and disciplines—including transportation, environmental, and planning—on integrated project teams.
As you gain experience, help train and mentor junior staff on technical standards, tools, and best practices.
Participate in professional organizations and business development activities as your interests and experience grow.
