About The Position

We are looking for a Land Advisor to serve as the primary point of accountability for payments, and acquisition of mineral tenure, conducting land status evaluations, making maps in ArcGIS of tenure and assets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining land, water, and mineral rights records. This role serves as a critical link between exploration, permitting, infrastructure development, commercial, and external stakeholders to secure and maintain the land positions necessary for project success. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in federal, state, and private land frameworks and has a proven ability to manage complex land portfolios while supporting exploration and development objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Geology, GIS, Land Management, Natural Resources, Environmental Studies, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Experienced in maintaining a land tenure database, and actioning lease payments and claim payments.
  • Comfortable with operating outdoors in rural environments including exposure to extremes in temperature and a wide variety of hazards. to collect data or oversee safe execution of contractor partners.
  • Trained in GIS or land surveying.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in mineral tenure, land administration, mineral rights management, exploration support, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state, and private land ownership frameworks.
  • Experience conducting land status research, title review, and due diligence investigations.
  • Strong understanding of mining claims, leases, agreements, and regulatory compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • 5 or more years of experience in mineral exploration, mining, or natural resource development.
  • Understanding of groundwater and surface water rights.
  • Experience with complex tenure packages involving fee land, leases, claims, right of way corridors, railroads, easements, and grazing.
  • Experience supporting land transactions.
  • Familiarity with public land agencies and regulatory authorities.
  • Skilled in collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams.
  • Experienced with NEPA

Responsibilities

  • Maintain Resolution Copper’s land tenure management system.
  • File and manage applications for leases and land use permits.
  • Prepare an annual notice of intent to hold for mining claims, amend, locate, and relinquish claims as necessary to progress the project.
  • Inspect grazing, mineral exploration, or water-related improvements in remote settings.
  • Perform perioding field investigations involving several mile walks over rough terrain with a pack up to 50 lb.
  • File and manage permit applications for exploration and water well drilling.
  • Assist or lead the writing of plans of operation submitted to federal and state agencies for purposes of requesting approvals for mineral or geotechnical exploration.
  • Make maps portraying the relationship between rights, infrastructure, and environment.
  • Support the acquisition, protection, or use of all rights including: state and public domain mineral rights, private land, railroad rights of way, state and federal grazing leases and permits, federal and state utility rights of way, special land use authorizations, authorizations under the General Mining Law, and water rights.
