About The Position

Assists in set-up and operation of machine combining by extrusion(s) or adhesives(s) two or more layers of film, foil, or paper to produce laminated flexible packaging materials.

Requirements

Ability to obtain production order and determine specs for impending job
Ability to arrange for delivery of base materials to machine
Ability to load print rolls and base films and or materials onto unwind stands
Ability to perform basic quality checks on films
Ability to mix primers, using prescribed formulas, and maintain adequate levels in reservoirs
Ability to transfer hazardous waste into designated drums and transport to storage areas
Ability to apply tape to resin roller to prevent extrusion from sticking
Ability to adjust web guide sensors and trim knives as required
Ability to check poly/adhesive applications
Ability to install anilox rollers
Ability to set brake control pressures
Ability to thread web(s) through machine, lapping and taping ends around take-up core
Ability to remove finished roll of laminated material from rewind using hoist or walk-around lift
Ability to transport roll to floor scales
Ability to accurately record weights, footage count, time, etc. on roll ticket
Ability to transfer roll to designated storage area
Ability to assist operator with job changes as prescribed
Ability to maintain work areas and related equipment in neat and orderly manner (sweeps, dusts, mops, scrapes using appropriate tools and agents)

Responsibilities

Obtains production order and determines specs for impending job and arranges for delivery of base materials to machine

Transfers hazardous waste into designated drums and transports to storage areas
Applies tape to resin roller to prevent extrusion from sticking and adjusts web guide sensors and trim knives as required
Checks poly/adhesive applications and installs anilox rollers
Sets brake control pressures and thread web(s) through machine, lapping and taping ends around take-up core
Removes finished roll of laminated material from rewind using hoist or walk-around lift, and transports roll to floor scales. Accurately records weights, footage count, time, etc. on roll ticket and transfers roll to designated storage area
Assists operator with job changes as prescribed
Maintains work areas and related equipment in neat and orderly manner (sweeps, dusts, mops, scrapes using appropriate tools and agents)
Performs other related work as required
