About The Position

The Lake Doctors, Inc. is seeking motivated individuals to join their team as Lake Maintenance - Field Technicians. This full-time role involves working independently outdoors to treat and maintain lakes, ponds, and other bodies of water for a variety of customers in Central Florida. The ideal candidate enjoys working independently, communicates well with customers, and takes pride in their work. On-the-job training is provided, including assistance in preparing for the required State test for certification in Aquatics.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (required).
  • Good time management, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Highly motivated individual that works well on their own.
  • Strong team player.
  • Comfortable speaking with customers to discuss their lake and pond needs.
  • Physical strength and agility to safely and sufficiently operate equipment in outdoor environments, on or near water, in an environment that may include heavy vegetation, uneven terrain, various species of wildlife and varying weather conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors and use equipment such as boats, all-terrain vehicles, trucks and other assigned equipment or vehicles.
  • Ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to wear all personal protection equipment needed in various weather conditions.
  • A valid, clean Florida Driver’s License.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Must be able to pass background checks, motor vehicle record checks, and drug screening.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in lawn service or pest control.
  • Experience in preservation and wetland maintenance.
  • Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge.
  • Some college helpful but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Treating and maintaining lake vegetation and algae at established accounts.
  • Performing water testing, stocking fish, and other pond and lake services.
  • Communicating with customers such as Homeowners Associations, Management Companies, and Property Owners.
  • Presenting a positive and professional image to help grow the business.
  • Maintaining customer records within the customer service software system.
  • Reading and interpreting herbicide labels, operating procedures, and safety rules.
