About The Position
The position will be for 16 - 20 hours per week and does not have benefits. Preference may be given to applicants who are bilingual in Spanish/English. Starting Pay: Lactation Support Specialist II - $17.63 - $20.22 Lactation Support Specialist I - $16.42 - $18.87 Schedule: Monday and Tuesday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Thursday & Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish/English (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Counsels pregnant and breastfeeding women by answering simple and complex questions on the phone and in person.
- Issue of hand breast pumps and electric breast pumps and breastfeeding supplies as instructed by qualified personnel following established protocol.
- Weekly follow-up on electric pumps.
- Act as resource to clients, lactation support specialists, and staff for any breastfeeding questions, concerns, or problems.
- Clean returned electric breast pumps according to state protocol.
- Teaching breastfeeding and infant classes.
