About The Position

This is a part-time (24 hours) day shift position within the OB/GYN Service. The role will provide service-line leadership for lactation education, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and Baby-Friendly program development. The primary focus is to lead and coordinate efforts to achieve and maintain Baby-Friendly designation, translating standards into sustainable clinical practices, staff education, competencies, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives. The Coordinator will serve as a subject matter expert and strategic resource, partnering with OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Breastfeeding Medicine, Quality, and other interdisciplinary leaders to standardize lactation and infant-feeding practices across the continuum of care. This includes ensuring consistent, evidence-based care and alignment with Baby-Friendly principles. The role will also develop and lead comprehensive lactation education and staff development programs, including EMPower training, simulation, new-hire education, and interdisciplinary learning experiences. Additionally, the role will lead evidence-based policy and practice development, quality monitoring, required reporting, and maintenance of the Breastfeeding Medicine dashboard. It will identify opportunities for improvement through data and competency assessment and lead or support initiatives that advance maternal and newborn feeding outcomes. Requirements

  • BSN required
  • Master’s degree preferred required within 5 years.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care by overseeing the quality assurance and quality improvement processes within healthcare facility.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and optimizes patient outcomes by implementing effective quality assurance and improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to identify areas for enhancement, develop strategies for improvement, and measure the effectiveness of interventions.
  • Drives a culture of excellence, safety, and patient-centered care through data analysis, performance metrics tracking, and continuous evaluation.
  • Provide service-line leadership for lactation education, quality improvement, evidence-based practice, and Baby-Friendly program development across the OB/GYN Service.
  • Lead and coordinate the OB/GYN Service’s efforts to achieve and maintain Baby-Friendly designation, translating Baby-Friendly standards into sustainable clinical practices, staff education, competencies, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Partner closely with OB/GYN, Pediatrics, Breastfeeding Medicine, Quality, and other interdisciplinary leaders to standardize lactation and infant-feeding practices across the continuum of care to ensure consistent, evidence-based care and ongoing alignment with Baby-Friendly principles and standards.
