About The Position

In this role, you’ll provide encouragement, education, and hands-on support to pregnant and breastfeeding individuals—helping them feel confident and empowered throughout their journey.

Requirements

  • Bilingual in Spanish and English (required)
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A strong commitment to breastfeeding advocacy
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage time effectively
  • A team player who values diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Willingness to complete Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) training after hire
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and auto insurance

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-onone and group breastfeeding support to WIC participants in clinic, home or hospital settings
  • Offer culturally responsive care tailored to each family's needs.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for staff and community partners on lactation topics
  • Document services accurately and maintain participant records
  • Support WIC operations, including client intake, eligibility screening, and benefit distribution
  • Connect families with community resources and referrals
  • Assist with outreach efforts to expand program awareness
  • Collaborate with a supportive team and participate in ongoing supervision and development
