About The Position
We're looking for a compassionate and knowledgeable Lactation Consultant PRN to join our team! If you're passionate about supporting mothers and babies apply today! The Lactation Consultant utilizes evidenced based knowledge to promote breastfeeding and to support breastfeeding families. The Lactation Consultant serves the following age groups on a regular basis: Neonates, Infants, Adolescents, and Adults. Provides all staff education to meet the requirements for baby friendly designation.
Requirements
- Education required for certification
- 1 year experience directly related to major responsibilities required
- BLS required
Nice To Haves
- International Board Certified Lactation Consultant preferred (must be obtained prior to two year anniversary)
Responsibilities
- Identifying and correcting lactation problems.
- Leading breastfeeding classes for expecting mothers.
- Advising physicians and healthcare providers on lactation problems experienced by patients.
- Performing a variety of tasks.
- Providing all staff education to meet the requirements for baby friendly designation.
