About The Position

As a Lactation Consultant at Paoli Hospital, you will educate and support new mothers during their inpatient stay and follow up with post-discharge calls to ensure their needs are met. You will also serve as an Educator/Consultant to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Women’s and Children service line for identified patient interventions. The unit has 28 beds.

Requirements

• Knowledge of fetal, newborn, and maternal anatomy/physiology.
• Certification with the International Board Lactation Consultants Examiners required.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of 2 years' experience providing healthcare and/or education in Women’s Health.
• One year plus experience working as a Lactation Consultant in an acute care setting.
• Current RN License preferred OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.
• Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline.

Responsibilities

• Educating and supporting new mothers during their inpatient stay.
• Calling patients within a month of discharge to ensure all needs have been met.
• Serving as an Educator/Consultant to nurses and other healthcare professionals within the Women’s and Children service line when additional interventions are identified for the patient.
