About The Position

We are seeking a skilled LabVIEW Developer to design, build, and maintain automated calibration systems. In this role, you will collaborate to architect scalable LabVIEW applications, integrate National Instruments (NI) hardware, and automate data acquisition and analysis workflows.

Requirements

Experience in PMEL (Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory), TMDE (Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment) calibration laboratories, or equivalent environments is highly desired.
Recognized expertise in one or more calibration disciplines is strongly preferred.
Understanding of measurement uncertainty principles within automated calibration processes, including the evaluation of uncertainty contributions and the impact of standard substitutions.
Strong familiarity with complex instrumentation, laboratory tools, and electronic test and measurement equipment.
Ability to quickly learn, evaluate, and apply new test equipment technologies, methodologies, and measurement concepts.
Proficiency with Fluke MET/CAL Calibration Management Software and the ability to translate manual calibration procedures into efficient, automated test processes.
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience designing and developing modular, maintainable software systems using LabVIEW.
Experience developing software in multiple programming languages, with the ability to evaluate requirements and select the most effective development platform, language, or framework for a given application.
Hands-on experience integrating and supporting National Instruments hardware platforms, including cDAQ, cRIO, and PXI systems, along with sensor signal conditioning technologies.
Solid understanding of industry-standard communication protocols and instrument control methods, including Serial (RS-232/485), TCP/IP, SCPI, USB, and Ethernet-based communications.
Exceptional organizational, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
A diploma from a technical, military or trade school and/or an associate’s or higher degree in engineering, electronics, or related technical field with 5+ years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Nice To Haves

ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification and/or a strong background in statistics is a plus.
Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or Certified LabVIEW Architect (CLA) certification preferred.
Experience with National Instruments software platforms and modules.
Background in calibration, test, or metrology environments with working knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and quality system principles.
Experience integrating LabVIEW applications with external software libraries and technologies, including DLLs, C/C++, Python, and C#.
Experience developing, deploying, and supporting automated test, measurement, or calibration systems in laboratory or production environments.
Familiarity with software architecture, code optimization, and performance tuning for complex test and automation applications.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and debug modular, maintainable LabVIEW applications using established software design patterns and best practices to ensure scalability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.
Integrate NI hardware platforms, including PXI/PXIe, CompactRIO, and CompactDAQ, as well as third-party instrumentation using industry-standard communication interfaces such as GPIB, RS-232/485, USB, and Ethernet.
Develop intuitive user interfaces for real-time monitoring and data visualization, and implement data management solutions using TDMS, SQL, CSV, or other storage technologies to support high-throughput test and measurement applications.
Develop automated test procedures using LabVIEW, or custom execution engines to verify test equipment performance and satisfy testing requirements, applying appropriate measurement techniques referencing the equipment operating manuals and recognized published calibration methods.
Collaborate with datasheet authors to ensure calibration datasheets align with automated verification methods, including accurate tolerances, measurement parameters, complete functional test coverage, and measurement uncertainty requirements where applicable.
Partner with the metrology team to develop and maintain procedures in accordance with established policies, standards, and guidance documents used for creating manual calibration methods.
Provide technical support to diagnose and resolve procedure, software, and hardware issues, including root-cause analysis, corrective actions, and implementation of bug fixes.
Produce and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including procedures, block diagrams, system architecture, user manuals, and operational guides to support development, maintenance, and end-user activities.
Develop tutorials, training materials, and user guidance to enable both new and experienced personnel to effectively utilize automated calibration and test processes.
Clearly communicate calibration processes, technical concepts, and issue resolutions to customers and stakeholders as needed.
