About The Position

BEMAC is seeking qualified Labourers to join their on-site Construction team for a 2 to 3 month project. This role is based out of a remote camp location near Fort MacKay, Alberta, and involves construction on the Imperial Oil (IOL) Kearl Lake Sodium Citrate Injection Process System. The shift rotation is 21 days on and 7 days off, with 10-hour workdays. While local candidates are preferred, fly-in, fly-out options from Edmonton or Calgary, Alberta, may be available for eligible candidates. The hourly rate ranges from $26.73 to $33.66.

Requirements

Experience in an industrial setting required
Excellent interpersonal skills
Ability to clearly communicate with all levels of a project organization
Clearance of applicable pre-employment checks (Criminal Background/Police Information check, Drug & Alcohol test, Reference checks, Provincial Driver’s Abstract)
Standard HSE certifications may be required (WHMIS, Fall Arrest, First Aid etc.)

Responsibilities

Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures
Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
Support tradespersons such as carpenters, pipefitters, electricians and equipment operators in construction activities
Support heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
Level earth to fine grade specifications using rake and shovel
Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
Support in tool crib, storage seacan organization
Provide worksite housekeeping support throughout the construction phase
Direct traffic at or near construction sites
Perform other duties as directed.
