About The Position

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction. This is a full-time, seasonal position requiring a flexible schedule of 10+ hours per day, with overtime after 8 hours/day or 44 hours/week. The role is located in Fort McMurray and surrounding areas, and candidates must have their own reliable transportation as public transport is not available. The ideal candidate is hard-working, reliable, flexible, and able to work in physically demanding conditions. Daily allowances are available.

Requirements

Minimum one (1) year experience operating a rock truck.
Must have experience as a labourer and Packer Operator.
Personal Reliable Vehicle
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Drug and alcohol testing (swab-based test)
Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation

Nice To Haves

Skid Steer experience is considered an asset

Responsibilities

Clean and prepare construction sites as needed, removing and properly disposing of debris and waste materials, and digging trenches.
Understand the issues involving ground disturbance.
Safe operation of rock truck in close proximity to ground personnel and other equipment.
Willing to help ground personnel when required.
Perform pre and post trip inspections on the unit.
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture.
Proven ability to work in congested areas.
