About The Position
American Iron & Metal (AIM) is seeking a Non-Ferrous Receiver Labourer for their Montréal-Est site. This is a temporary position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The role involves receiving, sorting, and classifying non-ferrous materials, verifying their compliance, and actively contributing to daily site operations through various material handling tasks and general site support.
Requirements
- You work safely and follow health and safety standards
- You are comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- You are able to work in a dusty environment
- You are able to perform physically demanding work
Nice To Haves
- Basic experience operating a forklift
- Experience or an interest in metal recycling
- Basic knowledge of metals
Responsibilities
- Providing quality customer service and communicating pricing to customers
- Sorting and classifying non-ferrous metals by type and characteristics
- Weighing materials and entering data into the RECY system
- Preparing and coordinating shipments and receiving materials
- Maintaining the general cleanliness of the site and keeping equipment in good condition
- Performing daily maintenance of equipment and work area
- Following and applying health and safety standards (wearing PPE)
