About The Position

Sureway Construction is seeking a Labour Foreman to oversee and manage crews in the Edmonton and surrounding areas. This is a full-time, seasonal position with a focus on civil earthworks, grading, utilities, and offsite projects. The role requires a strong understanding of construction procedures, safety protocols, and leadership skills to ensure project success and adherence to timelines.

Requirements

Minimum five (5) years Civil /Earthworks experience including experience in constructing Roadways/Subdivisions.
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License (non GDL)
Clean Driving Record
CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support
Minimum five (5) years Civil or Industrial Foreman, with experience in constructing Roadways/Subdivisions.
In depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OHS guidelines.
Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints.
Excellent organizational and leadership with the ability to communicate and report effectively.
Must have extensive knowledge of "Urban" Subdivision grading or Industrial.
Recognizes and understands the safe operation of heavy equipment and material handling.
Good communication and interpersonal skills required.
Must be a team player.
Committed to working in a safe and efficient manner.

Nice To Haves

Civil Engineering Technology or Construction Engineering Technology degree/diploma considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Oversee, supervise and manage crew, including equipment operators and labourers
Ensure schedules and timelines are met
Work with project management to schedule and coordinate tasks
Ensure equipment is maintained at the highest standards, in a timely manner
Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
