About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Laborist specializing in Obstetrics & Gynecology. The role is inpatient, call-only, and requires coverage from July 5, 2026, ongoing. The physician will be responsible for managing low-risk pregnancies, interpreting fetal heart rates, performing routine and complicated deliveries, and handling operative/major procedures. The average daily patient volume is 8, with approximately 1750 annual deliveries and 8 admissions. Phone consults average 15 per day. The facility uses the Cerner EMR system and has 10 RN support staff. Temporary privileges are available.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE)
- Licensed in PA or IMLC
- BLS certification
- ABLS certification
Responsibilities
- Manage low-risk pregnancies
- Interpret fetal heart rate tracings (NST, CST, FSE)
- Perform routine deliveries (Vaginal, Low forceps)
- Make decisions for C-sections
- Handle complicated deliveries including C-sections, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBACs, and repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
- Perform operative/major procedures (including diagnostic) such as ectopic pregnancy management, ovary removal, cystectomy, and extensive LOAs
- Perform rounding
- Handle phone consults
