About The Position

The Laborer plays a vital role in maintaining safe, clean, and efficient operations within the Steel Mill environment. This position involves performing a variety of physical and manual tasks to support the job site, including cleaning, fueling, greasing, and assisting with equipment operations. This role requires strong teamwork, communication, and time management skills, along with the ability to work in physically demanding and industrial conditions. The ideal candidate is safety-oriented, dependable, and willing to contribute wherever needed to support overall mill operations.

Experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting preferred but not required

Responsibilities

Clean cat walks, stairs, and screens using a shovel and other various equipment
Must be able to climb stairs and ladders
Grease and fuel equipment
Perform all types of manual tasks such as lifting and moving
Serve as a spotter or safety man
Must have full range of motion to use tools as necessary
Must be able to be on their feet or seated for extended periods of time
Employee must be able to walk distances of up to 1/2 miles or less to and from equipment
May operate a skid steer, man lift, and forklift
Possess range of motion to check blind spots
Lift and operate handheld portable fire extinguisher
Perform any other tasks assigned to support and improve the overall team operations
