About The Position
The City of Bristol, Virginia, has an immediate opening for a Laborer in the Street Maintenance Division of the Public Works Department. The division maintains and repairs the City’s streets, storm drainage systems, and sidewalks; removes snow; and provides traffic-control support during special events. The position reports to the applicable supervisor or foreman. The position is open until filled. Starting pay is $16.44, depending on qualifications and experience (DOQ/DOE).
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license.
- Experience in construction and/or maintenance activities, operation of heavy equipment, or any combination of training and experience.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair the City’s streets, storm drainage systems, and sidewalks.
- Perform snow removal for the City.
- Provide traffic-control support during special events.
