About The Position
This is a non-exempt position under the FLSA. The purpose is to provide general labor services to warehouse, paint shop, mechanical, welding, and electrical personnel as needed. Typical activities include loading, transporting, and unloading materials, supplies, and equipment. Performs clean-up and minor repair tasks, cleans work areas, and operates fork trucks and other small equipment. Operates shop tools as needed to assist work in assigned areas. Performs other general laborer tasks as directed.
Requirements
- Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
- Must be able to use hand tools and small power tools.
- Heavy work requiring constant exertion of 10 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push or pull objects.
- Frequent exertion of 25 to 50 pounds of force.
- Occasional exertion of 50 to 100 pounds of force.
- Must be able to move around on foot.
- Must be able to walk on uneven surfaces.
- Must be able to stand constantly on a hard surface.
- Must be able to reach, bend, climb, and kneel.
- Dexterous use of both hands and both arms is required to operate the tools and equipment used in the work.
- Must be able to see well naturally or with correction.
- Must be able to perform the work without posing a direct threat to her/himself and/or others.
- Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the job.
Responsibilities
