About The Position

The Laborer assists skilled craft workers with their assigned duties and performs physical work at construction sites. The role involves a variety of tasks, including helping craftspeople set up work, following instructions from experienced crew members, maintaining clean and orderly work areas, and carrying out duties with safety as the primary focus. The Laborer reads and understands warning signs, equipment operating instructions, and jobsite safety rules and policies, and learns to identify hazards by observing installed equipment and systems.

Requirements

• May require a high school diploma or equivalent and previous experience in the field or a related area.
• Possess working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.
• Understand, follow, and communicate written and oral instructions effectively with management and supervision.
• Use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently.
• Have the required tools.
• Hold an OSHA 10 Certification.
• Pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing.
• Be able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across a construction or industrial site.

Responsibilities

• Assist craftspeople in setting up work as required.
• Follow instructions from superintendents, foremen, and other experienced crew members.
• Perform required duties with safety as the first priority.
• Keep work areas clean and orderly.
• Read and understand warning signs, equipment operating instructions, jobsite safety rules, and jobsite policies.
• Observe the functioning of installed equipment or systems to identify hazards.
• Observe and comply with all safety and project rules.
• Perform other duties as required.
