About The Position
The Wichita South Transfer Station is seeking a dependable, safety-focused Transfer Station Laborer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in the solid waste industry and learn about heavy equipment operations while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform physical labor throughout the day
- Strong attention to safety and situational awareness
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment around trucks and heavy equipment
Responsibilities
- Maintain litter control and overall cleanliness throughout the facility
- Safely guide trucks in and out of the tipping floor area
- Direct traffic entering and exiting the facility in a safe and professional manner
- Communicate effectively with scale house personnel and equipment operators
- Clean pits and work areas as needed
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures
- Assist with general site maintenance and housekeeping duties
