About The Position
This is a non-exempt position under the FLSA. The purpose of this role is to provide general labor services to warehouse, paint shop, mechanical, welding, and electrical personnel as needed. Due to the contractual nature of our work, time is of the essence. The scheduling, completion, and delivery of the work make regular attendance an essential requirement of the job.
Requirements
- Must be able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagrammatic form.
- Must be able to use hand tools and small power tools.
- Ability to lift, carry, push or pull objects with constant exertion of 10 to 20 pounds of force.
- Ability to frequently exert 25 to 50 pounds of force.
- Ability to occasionally exert 50 to 100 pounds of force.
- Ability to move around on foot, walk on uneven surfaces, stand constantly on a hard surface, reach, bend, climb, and kneel.
- Dexterous use of both hands and both arms is required to operate the tools and equipment used in the work.
- Must be able to see well naturally or with correction.
- Must be able to perform the work without posing a direct threat to her/himself and/or others.
- Regular attendance is an essential requirement of the job.
Responsibilities
- Loads, transports and unloads materials, supplies and equipment.
- Performs clean-up and minor repair tasks.
- Cleans work area.
- Operate fork truck and other small equipment.
- Operate shop tools as needed to assist work in assigned areas.
- Perform other general laborer tasks as directed.
