About The Position

This is primarily an outside job and you must be prepared to work in inclement weather. The role involves properly identifying waste materials unacceptable for disposal in the landfill and safely removing and separating them. You will be directing trucks as they unload and satisfying customer needs for service. A key aspect of this role is to proactively participate in GFL's safety culture and training, reporting any incidents, and working in a safe manner. Punctual and excellent attendance is expected. Responsibilities include general yard clean-up and maintenance of the site, and comfort working with the public. You will be driving to different sites and assisting where required and needed, as well as assisting Operators with the maintenance and care of their heavy and operational equipment. This position requires the ability to lift 40 lbs and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
• Required to have a valid driver’s license
• Basic knowledge of equipment eg. wheel loader and small backhoe
• Self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
• Strong relationship and interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
• Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
• Computer knowledgeable
• Must be able to lift 40 lbs
• Safety footwear is required
• Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required.
