Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
1-2 years of Equipment Operator experience or operator training certificate
Ability to perform physically demanding work, including but not limited to repetitive lifting of 50lbs and occasional lifting of 50-100lbs
Excellent customer service skills
Class G Drivers License
Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements

Responsibilities

Operate a variety of heavy equipment to push, cover and pack refuse and solid waste. Equipment includes articulated loaders, forklifts and skid steer loaders.
Perform routine inspections, maintenance on equipment and machinery as required.
Responsible for servicing equipment including fueling, checking hydraulics and greasing etc.
Exercise appropriate precautions by visually identifying hazardous waste symbols and identifying non-allowed material.
Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including picking up solid waste and trash from roads, driveways and ditches.
Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Perform other such duties and functions as may be necessary or incidental to the proper performance of this position
