Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years of Equipment Operator experience or operator training certificate
  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including but not limited to repetitive lifting of 50lbs and occasional lifting of 50-100lbs
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Class G Drivers License
  • Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
  • Must be able to pass all pre-employment requirements

Responsibilities

  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment to push, cover and pack refuse and solid waste. Equipment includes articulated loaders, forklifts and skid steer loaders.
  • Perform routine inspections, maintenance on equipment and machinery as required.
  • Responsible for servicing equipment including fueling, checking hydraulics and greasing etc.
  • Exercise appropriate precautions by visually identifying hazardous waste symbols and identifying non-allowed material.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including picking up solid waste and trash from roads, driveways and ditches.
  • Ensure proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promote continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
  • Perform other such duties and functions as may be necessary or incidental to the proper performance of this position
