About The Position

This is primarily an outside job and you must be prepared to work in inclement weather. The role involves properly identifying waste materials unacceptable for disposal in the landfill and safely removing and separating them. The position requires directing trucks as they unload, satisfying customer needs for service, and proactively participating in GFL's safety culture and training. The job also includes general yard clean-up and maintenance of the site, assisting operators with equipment care, and potentially driving to different sites to assist where needed. Successful candidates will be required to provide valid documentation confirming their eligibility to work in the country where the job is located prior to their start date. Requirements

Must be comfortable working with the public
Must be prepared to work in inclement weather
Safety footwear is required
Must be able to lift 40 lbs
Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required
Required to have a valid driver’s license
Basic knowledge of equipment eg. wheel loader and small backhoe
Self-starter, motivated and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Strong relationship and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills in oral and written English
Strong ability to follow oral and written instructions properly
Computer knowledgeable
Valid work authorization in the country where the job is located is required

Responsibilities

Direct trucks as they unload
Satisfy customer needs for service
Proactively participate in GFL safety culture and training
Report any incidents
Work in a safe manner
Maintain punctual and excellent attendance
Perform general yard clean-up and maintenance of the site
Drive to different sites and assist where required and needed
Assist Operators with the maintenance and care of their heavy and operational equipment
Other duties as assigned
