Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Must be willing and able to work safely in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to perform manual labor
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to pass a drug test and background check
  • Must be able to follow instructions and work in a team environment.
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as work instructions, safety rules, and operating procedures
  • Reasoning skills to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
  • Ability to work a rotating shift as assigned including daily and weekly overtime requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in an industrial heavy manufacturing work environment
  • Previous safety training or OSHA certification
  • Previous quality training or ISO certification training
  • Heavy equipment operator license or previous experience operating heavy equipment
  • Previous Forklift certification
  • Previous experience operating industrial machines and/or machinery
  • Computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Backfill jobs and provide coverage in other area(s) as assigned to meet production goals and scheduling requirements to fill customer orders
  • Operates industrial machines and machinery
  • Operates heavy equipment such as forklift, palletizer and other industrial equipment as required
  • Loads trucks and containers with finished product some of which may require handling and hand stacking
  • Prepares and packages finished product for shipment
  • Prepares, packs, loads, unloads, maintains, repairs furnaces and furnace components
  • Uses chains, slings, straps, hooks, and other lifting devices to manually move stock in and out of assigned work area
  • Clean, identify, and inspect product stock for defects
  • Reports and notifies management of any upset condition
  • Uses scales, weights, and other measuring devices
  • Uses hand tools, power tools, and cutting devices
  • Moves materials and product stock through process and in/out of storage and staging areas
  • Perform routine inspections and complete inspection logs of equipment and PPE as required
  • Completes routine housekeeping tasks (sweeping, mopping, sanitizing, wiping surfaces, emptying trash/scrap containers, and cleaning of assigned area(s)
  • Participates in scheduled training sessions such as required safety training
  • May work independently as assigned or in a group setting and can be assigned to other jobs as required
  • Reports to Production Management
  • Other duties as assigned
