About The Position

The Laborer/Operator maintains concrete block production, keeps the yard and plant clean, performs plant maintenance, and operates a loader as needed. The role works under the direction of the Concrete Operations Manager and is based in Tooele, Utah. Work is entirely outdoors and may involve long hours in extreme temperatures. Hours may vary, and the position is subject to winter layoff.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
General knowledge of concrete and basic knowledge of heavy equipment and industrial plant functions.
Attention to and commitment to safety.
Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
Willingness to work long hours in extreme outdoor temperatures.
Ability to safely move at least 100 pounds.
Ability to frequently lift and carry up to 80 pounds; may occasionally lift items above the head, with coworkers available to assist with heavy objects.
Ability to communicate with customers, coworkers, and supervisors, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements.
Ability to perform physical activities that may include climbing ladders, walking over uneven ground, balancing, stooping or crouching, kneeling, and grasping and holding objects.

Responsibilities

Clean the yard and maintain plant cleanliness.
Pour and break down concrete blocks.
Perform plant maintenance, including preventative maintenance such as greasing and jackhammering.
Maintain landscape and plant cleanliness.
Fill in on the loader when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
