About The Position

This role involves transporting and handling materials, tools, and equipment, preparing materials for use, and assisting with the installation and assembly of industrial systems or machinery. The position requires the safe operation of various tools and machinery, adherence to safety protocols, and performing quality checks. The Laborer- Material Handler will also be responsible for cleaning and maintaining work areas and tools, supporting the team in troubleshooting, assisting in training less experienced team members, and helping to maintain project timelines. Other tasks may be assigned by project supervisors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
2+ years of experience in an industrial or construction environment, with some exposure to specialized craft work.
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and other industrial equipment.
Ability to read and interpret basic blueprints or project plans.
Knowledge of basic industrial safety practices and ability to follow safety guidelines.
Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
Good physical endurance and the ability to perform manual labor tasks.
Must be able to lift heavy materials, work in confined spaces, and handle a variety of work environments.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a specialized craft area (e.g., refractory, fabrication, scaffolding).
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Basic first aid or CPR certification.
Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision when required.

Responsibilities

Transport and handle materials, tools, and equipment efficiently, ensuring that all necessary resources are readily available for the team.
Prepare materials for use by cutting, grinding, or shaping components as directed by supervisors.
Assist with the installation and assembly of industrial systems or machinery, such as piping, electrical systems, or equipment.
Safely operate hand tools, power tools, and industrial machinery to complete tasks under supervision.
Ensure that safety protocols and guidelines are adhered to during all tasks, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and reporting any hazards to supervisors.
Perform quality checks on work tasks to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
Clean and maintain tools, machinery, and work areas, ensuring they are ready for use.
Support the team in troubleshooting and addressing basic issues with materials, tools, or equipment.
Assist in training or mentoring less experienced Laborer I team members.
Help maintain project timelines by ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and on schedule.
Perform other tasks as assigned by project supervisors.
