JT425 - LABORER / MACHINE OPERATOR
About The Position
General Operator role has a seasonality effect. Performs tasks such as driving and operating agricultural machinery for planting and cultivating. The type of work assigned will vary based on the current season. In spring and summer, you will be assigned to teams supporting a variety of responsibilities. Spend time inspecting and maintaining our seed crops or you could support seed inventory management at the plant. Fall is a busy season with harvesting and seed packaging in full swing. In the winter, you’ll be cleaning & packaging seed, supporting maintenance work, warehousing and shipping seed to ensure our customers have the product they need for the coming planting season. Receive and process trucks hauling crop from the field for weighing and unloading. Complete a wide range of harvest activities: ex.: husk and sort operations Operate dryer to dry crop within the prescribed safety, quality, and financial requirements Shelling and storage of crop from bins in the dryer facility Supply the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed Apply appropriate treatment to seed Label, tag, bag and palletize seed Enter inventory information into computer Stage seed for shipment in warehouse Retag in-house seed. Re-bag backhaul (returned) seed Inspect pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean Wash pro boxes as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and landscaping
- Ability and willingness to work outdoors
- Ability to lift 50-pound bags
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Availability to work all shifts, including weekends and holidays

- Supplying the Conditioning department with a constant supply of seed
- Applying appropriate treatment to seed
- Labeling, tagging, bagging and palletizing seed
- Entering inventory information into computer
- Staging seed for shipment in warehouse
- Retagging in-house seed
- Re-bagging backhaul (returned) seed
- Inspecting pro boxes to ensure they are free of debris and clean
- Washing pro boxes as necessary
