Requirements

Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Manually picks up windblown paper from the periphery of the landfill, depositing refuse in a trash bag.
Uses a mobile vacuum to gather loose paper and refuse along the fenced border and adjacent land.
Drives a tractor pulling a vacuum along the fenced border and adjacent land, guiding the vacuum hose to collect refuse.
Directs traffic at the landfill entrance during heavy traffic periods, communicating with drivers verbally or by hand signals.
Lifts construction materials such as lumber, bags of concrete mix, and hand tools for site maintenance projects.
Uses hand tools including shovels, picks, axes, and chain saws.
Manually separates metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard from trash on the tipping floor at landfills with a transfer station.
