Requirements

Licenses as required by Local, State, Federal, Environmental and/or Health/Safety Regulatory agencies.

Responsibilities

Manually picks up windblown paper from the periphery of the landfill, walking along the fenced border and adjacent land, collecting refuse in a large plastic trash bag until full.
Uses a mobile vacuum to gather loose paper and refuse, driving a tractor pulling the vacuum along the landfill border and adjacent land, and operating the vacuum hose to collect debris.
Directs traffic at the landfill entrance during peak summer months, communicating with drivers verbally or by hand signals.
Lifts construction materials such as lumber, bags of concrete mix, and hand tools for site maintenance projects.
Uses hand tools including shovels, picks, axes, and chain saws.
Manually separates metal, white goods, lumber, and cardboard from trash on the tipping floor at landfills with a transfer station.
