The Department of Conservation and Recreation seeks applicants for the position of Laborer II. This role involves performing various manual labor tasks, which may require some specialized skill, to assist in the work of skilled tradesmen and craftsmen such as carpenters, plumbers and masons. Duties include tasks related to the installation of drainage, sewer and/or water pipelines or conduits, digging trenches, erecting and removing shoring and bracing for trenches and excavations, setting and repairing curbing, and patching pavement. The position also involves installing, repairing, and maintaining signs, planting and maintaining trees, flowers, and shrubs, seeding lawns and gardens, and operating handheld power tools, tapping machines, rodding machines, and motor vehicles. Additionally, the role includes loading and unloading trucks, unpacking and storing supplies and equipment, and taking periodic inventories.
