As a Laborer/Groundman on our Long Haul Travel Crew, you will support aerial and underground telecom construction projects nationwide. This role requires 100% travel, working on projects of varying durations. You take pride in doing the job right, working safely, and being a reliable, hands-on member of the team.

Requirements

• Dependable, coachable, and willing to learn
• 1–2 years of outdoor experience, preferably in construction
• Comfortable working in all weather and varying terrain
• Able to travel 100% and work 50–60 hours per week
• Willing and able to get a DOT Med Card if needed
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record past 3 years (CDL prefered)

Responsibilities

• Follow all safety procedures and use proper PPE to ensure the safety of yourself, your crew, and the public
• Perform general labor duties including trenching, backfilling, job site prep, and material handling
• Assist with installation of underground conduit and fiber optic cable, including fiber blowing and placement
• Support aerial and underground construction as directed and trained
• Load, unload, and transport materials, tools, and equipment between job sites
• Assist with equipment and vehicle operations (trucks, trailers, and construction equipment) as directed and certified
• Support site cleanup, basic maintenance, and overall job site organization
• Assist with troubleshooting and basic repair of RF and fiber systems as needed
• Learn to read and interpret construction prints, maps, and design schematics
• Gain experience with telecom tools and equipment such as bucket trucks, line trucks, cable reels, and power tools
• Work 50–60 hours per week and travel 100% of the time (except PTO and holidays)
