About The Position

Performs a variety of tasks in connection with the sales of seasonal merchandise such as Christmas trees, tree stands, wreaths, and ornaments. This role ensures that displays are maintained and tends to Christmas trees for proper care. The attendant also assists customers by loading purchased merchandise into their vehicles.

Requirements

Twelve months of experience performing manual labor tasks such as holiday season tree/wreath/ornament handling, cutting, moving supplies and materials by hand cart, stacking materials for storage, collecting refuse and salvageable material.
Associate must receive hazardous material (HazMat) training within 90 days of hire per Department of Transportation regulations.
Lifting and carrying weights up to 45 pounds.
Performing duties standing and walking for long periods of time.
Required to use a chainsaw in connection with job duties.

Responsibilities

Attends to Christmas trees displayed in a designated area, ensuring they are secure and safely positioned for customers.
Assists customers by shaking purchased trees to remove dead needles.
Utilizes a powered chainsaw to recut trees to help prolong their life by enabling water absorption.
Wraps trees with twine to secure branches and form.
Assists customers with loading purchased trees into or onto their vehicles, ensuring they are securely tied.
Lifts and carries patron purchases, including trees, tree stands, wreaths, and other general merchandise, from the staging area to the customer's vehicle.
May use a hand truck or dolly to move merchandise.
Maintains working areas in a clean and orderly condition, picking up debris and trash.
Picks up empty boxes and containers from work areas and moves them for disposal.
Receives general supervision for routine duties and direct supervision for special or new assignments.
