About The Position

Performs phases of laboratory testing, as assigned. This position is ECB status – requires a minimum number of worked hours per month as needed by the department; limited benefit offerings. This position has been identified as a safety sensitive position under the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Use and Patient Protection Act (OMMA).

Requirements

• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Technology or in a related biological/chemical science from an accredited college or university.
• 0 - 6 months related experience in clinical laboratory.
• PC skills needed for efficient computer utilization.
• Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to organize work in an effective and efficient manner.
• Ability to be detail oriented in the examination of clinical and numerical data.

Responsibilities

• Collect and process biological specimens and other substances.
• Performs and reports routine analytical tests under direction of medical technologist, recognizing factors that affect procedures and results, and taking appropriate actions within predetermined limits when corrections are indicated.
• Perform and monitor quality control within predetermined limits.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment under direction of medical technologist.
• Supports laboratory goals by demonstrating teamwork, service excellence, adhering to established guidelines and policies.
• Looks for ways to improve processes.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Works with medical laboratory science students during educational laboratory activities.
