Requirements

  • Four-year degree in natural science (e.g. Chemistry, Biology) with laboratory classes; or two-year degree in a natural science with laboratory classes (e.g. Chemistry, Biology) and 2 years of laboratory work experience.
  • Able to work 12 hour shifts on rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Mathematics, communication, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interpret and communicate results of routine and nonroutine tests.
  • Working knowledge of laboratory safety, hazardous waste management, and strict adherence to written procedures and SOPs.
  • Must follow all company safety policies, including the use of required PPE.

Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, raw material, and final product testing according to established methods and quality standards.
  • Document all analyses clearly and accurately in laboratory notes and electronic databases including SAP.
  • Have a working knowledge of FTNIR, KF Titration systems, Coulometry, Calorimetry and Spectrometry.
  • Sample material from the manufacturing facility and observe and document select manufacturing equipment in the plant.
  • Perform instrument calibration, standardization, and routine maintenance according to SOPs.
  • Monitor and manage laboratory hazardous waste streams, ensuring proper labeling, collection, and disposal per regulatory and company requirements.
  • Participate in lab housekeeping, ensuring a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Communicate test results promptly to production and quality teams.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts in analytical accuracy, efficiency, and safety.
  • Perform all supportive lab duties and extra assigned work required to maintain effective and efficient laboratory services in order to ensure production and shipment of quality products from the plant.
