Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Strong attention to detail, reliability, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow established procedures.
- Effective communication with laboratory staff, field personnel, and project teams is also important.

- NICET or equivalent certifications
- ACI Field Testing Technician – Grade I
Responsibilities
- Supports daily laboratory operations by performing materials testing, maintaining equipment, and ensuring accurate and timely reporting of results.
- Plays a key part in delivering high-quality, compliant testing services that contribute to safe and successful construction projects throughout the Bellingham region.
- Assist with laboratory testing of soil, asphalt, concrete, and aggregate materials in accordance with ASTM, AASHTO, WAQTC, WSDOT, and project-specific requirements
- Prepare samples and perform basic laboratory tests under the direction of senior technicians or laboratory supervisors
- Pick up and transport samples in accordance with applicable procedures and safety requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laboratory environment
- Properly document and report test results
- Assist with equipment maintenance and calibration
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities
- This role does require driving to aggregate pits, asphalt plants, and construction sites to pick up samples.
