Leidos is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join the Energy & Environmental Division’s onsite laboratory in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, supporting the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Shallow Land Disposal Area (SLDA) Formerly Utilized Sites Remedial Action Program (FUSRAP) project. This position will require the use of a variety of chemistry methods and instrumentation to support onsite environmental remediation work. The Laboratory Technician will use a variety of chemistry methods and instrumentation to support onsite environmental remediation work. The Laboratory Technician will primarily be performing soil sample preparation and performing wet chemistry sample analysis using UV-vis and colorimetry. Additional tasks may include metals sample digestion, chemical radiological isotope separations for Americium, Plutonium, Uranium, and Thorium, and sample analysis using various analytical instrumentation. The Laboratory Technician will also support data analysis and review, preparing and reviewing data packages and reports, instrument maintenance and repair. This position requires on-site support and passing a blood beryllium lymphocyte proliferation test (BeLPT) prior to starting work at the customer site. Must be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation; per contract requirements, U.S. Citizenship or U.S. Permanent Residency is required.
