About The Position

ADM is seeking a Laboratory Technician in Decatur, IL. This role involves preparing, processing, and testing finished product samples using various analytical methods, including instrumental and wet chemistry procedures. The technician will record results using computerized data systems, perform daily process monitoring tests, and maintain samples of tested production orders. Responsibilities include documenting all testing procedures, notifying operations of necessary adjustments, and entering data into a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). The technician will gain an understanding of production processes and may provide recommendations to operators to ensure product quality. Additionally, the role includes performing light maintenance and calibration on laboratory equipment, maintaining ongoing records of testing results, managing testing supplies, and ensuring equipment accuracy by comparing readouts with standards. Maintaining a clean and safe working area, adhering to all safety equipment and certification requirements, and complying with FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA, and employer standards are crucial. The position also requires maintaining effective working relationships with colleagues.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process and test finished product samples.
  • Perform analytical testing using instrumental, wet chemistry procedures, and record results using computerized data systems.
  • Perform daily process monitoring tests throughout the plant as assigned.
  • Maintain samples of tested production order to confirm test results, if necessary.
  • Document results of all testing procedures and promptly notify operations of required adjustments.
  • Enter and report data using a Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Understand most production processes required in the production of product and may make recommendations to operators in order to achieve product quality.
  • Perform light maintenance and calibration on all ADM laboratory equipment.
  • Maintain on-going records of the results of all testing procedures and inputs such data into computer on a daily basis.
  • Maintain adequate supplies used for testing procedures and notifies the supervisor of the need to re-order such supplies.
  • Continually compare equipment readouts with samples of standards as required to insure that all systems are operating accurately.
  • Maintain a neat and clean working area at all times, washing equipment as required and placing equipment in the proper storage areas.
  • Maintain an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner, utilizing all approved safety equipment and successfully completes all safety certification requirements.
  • Maintain awareness and adheres to all FDA, GMP, BATF, EPA, OSHA and employer standards and guidelines.
