Laboratory Technician (M-F 12pm-8:30pm) - Eurofins Environment Testing Northeast - Edison, NJ
About The Position
The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. This is an entry-level, full-time position with a Mon-Fri schedule from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Candidates with basic laboratory experience and those looking to gain experience without a four-year degree are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
- Basic laboratory experience preferred
- Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
- Basic mathematical skills
- Good organizational skills

Nice To Haves
- High school Chemistry coursework preferred
- Comfortable with a fast-paced time sensitive laboratory work
- Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts
- Ability to use TALS (Laboratory Information Management System)
Responsibilities
- Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods: Aliquot samples, Spike and trace samples, Prepare reagents, Bottle samples, Prepare concentrations, Separation, Sonication, Preparing water and soil samples for metals analysis.
- Performing digestions with concentrated acids.
- Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System.
- Learning the Mercury Analysis Liquid rack set up.
- Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Stocking laboratory supplies.
- Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.
