About The Position

Eurofins Environment Testing has a full-time entry-level opportunity with full benefits. The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures. This is an entry-level position, and those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply. The role involves retrieving samples, performing sample preparation, preparing reagents, bottling samples, preparing concentrations, separation, sonication, preparing water on soil samples for metals analysis, performing digestions with concentrated acids, learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System, learning Mercury Analysis, liquid rack setup, resolving discrepancies, preparing general laboratory paperwork, washing laboratory glassware, stocking laboratory supplies, cleaning work areas, and assisting other laboratory areas as needed.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
High school Chemistry coursework preferred.
Basic laboratory experience preferred
Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.

Responsibilities

Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods: Aliquot samples, Spike and trace samples, Prepare reagents, Bottle samples, Prepare concentrations, Separation, Sonication.
Preparing water on soil samples for metals analysis.
Performing digestions with concentrated acids.
Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System.
Learning the Mercury Analysis.
Liquid rack set up.
Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
Stocking laboratory supplies.
Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
