About The Position

Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Petroleum Laboratory Technician to join their Caleb Brett team in Garden City, GA. This role supports analytical testing for Intertek and its clients, maintaining associated records to ensure accurate, timely, and cost-effective service. Requirements

  • Must be able to work at both the Intertek location in Garden City and at the client's site on Elba Island.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.
  • Must be detailed-oriented and able to effectively prioritize and organize workload with efficient time management.
  • Ability to communicate and interact effectively in verbal, written, and presentation formats.
  • Must possess the fundamental technical and administrative skills required to perform the job duties.
  • Must be customer-focused and quality-driven.
  • Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Two years’ experience in a laboratory environment preferred.
  • Ability to handle chemical and petroleum products.
  • Proficiency in online applications.
  • Ability to work some overtime and occasional off-shifts as needed.
  • Ability to perform analytical tasks and communicate results.

Responsibilities

  • Receives, examines, and records inbound samples for testing through a login process.
  • Delivers test samples to the staging area.
  • Monitors the availability of testing supplies and informs the Laboratory Manager of needs.
  • Performs testing of samples and quality control specimens using specified methodology after demonstrating proficiency.
  • Reviews test results against specifications and known expectations.
  • May be delegated to issue analysis to clients.
  • Prepares samples and quality control specimens.
  • Prepares and standardizes reagents and solutions.
  • Calibrates equipment needed for testing processes.
  • Verifies and communicates obtained results, making appropriate entries into logs, control charts, calibration records, and laboratory worksheets (print or electronic) to ensure data validity and traceability.
  • Maintains documentation, equipment, and work areas in a neat, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Assists in training less experienced employees upon demonstration of proficiency.
  • Carries out all responsibilities in a supportive manner, adhering to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures.
  • Adheres to all Company policies.

  • Performs other duties as required.
