The Laboratory Technician I receives sufficient authority from, and is accountable to the Laboratory Supervisor or appointed designate for the successful completion of assigned duties and responsibilities and has the authority to take action necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of this position and to identify the occurrence of departures from the quality system or from the procedures for performing tests and/or calibrations, so long as such action does not deviate from established company guidelines, is consistent with sound technical and business judgment, and follows the practices of the laboratory. This role involves demonstrating and promoting the company vision, regular attendance and punctuality, and understanding and following management system requirements relevant to responsibilities, including the Quality Manual, SOPs, Local Work Instructions and Methods to ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025/AOAC ALACC requirements and relevant government regulatory requirements. The technician must adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations, maintain a clean and safe work environment, and perform registration of incoming samples, maintaining accurate records. Data entry into the Eurofins eLIMS system, completing laboratory testing accurately and efficiently, verifying results, and identifying process difficulties are key aspects of the role. The position requires maintaining readiness to respond to client and co-worker needs, fostering cooperative working relationships, and communicating effectively. Promoting the company image through ethical business practices and striving for continuous improvement in work quality are also essential. The role includes identifying non-conformances and out-of-specifications, conducting all activities safely and efficiently, and performing other assigned duties.
