About The Position

As a Laboratory Technician I in our Richmond, VA lab, you’ll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals. The compensation range for this role is $19.00 to $20.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location. Schedule: full-time shift, Sun to Wed (initial training Mon-Fri 8hrs/day)

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Must pass screen drug testing
Proficient in computers and database software
Knowledge of general lab practices and lab safety
Able to multi-task and communicate effectively (both oral and written)
Able to work independently and make sound decisions
Well organized and have an attention to detail
Must be able to lift sample containers, such as coolers, up to 50lbs

Nice To Haves

Associate’s degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic/vocational qualifications preferred.
Some lab experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Receives environmental samples into the laboratory according to Onterris SOPs
Performs data entry of sample and test information into Laboratory Information System (LIMS)
Label sample containers, store them in appropriate locations and/or contact the proper department to inform them of short holding time and/or rush requests.
Completes inventory and order inventory as needed.
Occasional driving for pick ups
Manages production of bottle preparation and shipments.
Assists in sample bottle preparation
Assists in sample management/archiving and disposal
Assists in sample pickup or field sampling, if needed
Participates in focus teams to improve efficiency
Comply with Onterris Quality Assurance Program
Comply with Onterris Health and Safety Plan
Other duties as assigned
